Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded by the WSB-NLU Scholarship Committee, mainly comprised of students.  Scholarships are awarded based on the regulations governing financial help for WSB-NLU and agreed upon by the student council.  WSB-NLU students can apply for the following scholarships: 

Scholarships for budgetary means open to Polish citizens, students studying in both part-time and full-time programs.

Any student in a difficult financial situation can receive:

a) social scholarships

b) scholarships to cover living expenses

c)  scholarships to cover boarding expenses

d) a one-time scholarship

The Scholarship Commission also awards special scholarships for the disabled (based on a disability statement). 

Scholarships for the results in studies are awarded to students with outstanding academic performances starting from the second year of studies.

One particularly outstanding student can receive an education scholarship from the Ministry of Education, at the motion of the Department Commission (such scholarships are awarded starting from the second year of studies),

Students with outstanding achievements in sport can receive sport scholarships from the Ministry of Education. 

In the academic year 2006/2007 we paid more than 1,200 benefits every month, as follows:

social scholarships:  497
special scholarships for the disabled:  30
scholarships for the results in studies and sport:  324
scholarships to cover living expenses:  321
scholarships to cover boarding expenses:  63


Founded scholarships

1. Scholarships from the Educational Foundation for Business Initiative in Łódź - awarded only for the students who completed at least the first year of studies:  for Bachelor or a uniform Master's Degree in Management and Marketing Department. The essential criteria for receiving a scholarship are the results achieved during the whole course of studies.  Scholarships are awarded according to the criteria established by the Foundation.

2.  The School's renown allows for according scholarships by outside sponsors (companies, private individuals).

3.  Several people take advantage of the scholarship founded by the Polish-German Cooperation Foundation. 

Since the academic year 2003/2004 students Wyzsza Szkola Biznesu - National-Louis University can apply for a scholarship  to start studies at DePaul University in Chicago.  Scholarships are for  outstanding students meeting specific criteria.  DePaul offers two types of scholarships:

- For the next 10 years, one Computer Science Bachelor graduate will be chosen by the Commission specifically appointed to fulfill this goal.  This graduate student will go to DePaul University in Chicago to continues studies for the Master's Degree in Computer Science.  The scholarship has been founded by Dr John Minogue, President of DePaul University and called "The Pawłowski-Minogue Scholarship".  Full tuition costs for the duration of the course of studies will be covered by DePaul University.

- For the next 10 years, two Management and Marketing students (graduate Bachelor students or 4th-year students in their Master's Studies), chosen by the WSB-NLU Rector, will go to DePaul University to continue a course of studies at the College of Commerce. The tuition costs for one quarter (10 weeks) of studies will be covered by DePaul University.
