On 19 March 2026, Dr. Krzysztof Pawłowski, the founder of Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu – National Louis University in Nowy Sącz, was awarded one of the highest state distinctions – the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. The decoration was conferred by decision of the President of the Republic of Poland dated 28 January 2026.

The award was presented, on behalf of the President, by Presidential Advisor Maciej Korkuć together with Member of the Polish Parliament Patryk Wicher.

This exceptional distinction is a recognition of Krzysztof Pawłowski’s many years of work and his contribution to the development of higher education, education as a whole, and social life. The establishment of WSB-NLU in Nowy Sącz was an undertaking that has become a lasting part of the history of the region and of non-public higher education in Poland.

During this special and emotional moment, Dr. Krzysztof Pawłowski was accompanied by his closest family – his wife and daughter – which gave the event an even more personal and meaningful dimension.

Through his vision, determination, and commitment, Krzysztof Pawłowski created a university that for years has been educating successive generations of students, combining high-quality education with a modern approach to learning and development.

As emphasized by the Chancellor of WSB-NLU, Przemysław Bochenek, MA:

This is a very important and meaningful moment for the entire community of our University. Awarding Dr. Krzysztof Pawłowski the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta is a recognition of his vision, determination, and tremendous contribution to the development of education. It is also an appreciation of a person who created an institution of great importance to our region and the academic community. For all of us, this is a source of pride.

This distinction is a source of pride for the WSB-NLU community and an opportunity to express gratitude for the achievements and legacy that continue to serve students, graduates, and the entire academic community.
