Cooking with heart for Daria - Summary of the 20th edition International Cooking Day

On December 14, 2024, the 20th Edition of International Cooking Day took place at Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu – National Louis University – a unique charity event that has been combining the taste of tradition with the idea of helping those in need for years.  

During this event, our students, guests from the Erasmus+ program, and partners prepared regional dishes from various parts of the world. For a voluntary donation, participants had the opportunity to taste these exceptional meals. This year, all funds raised were allocated to the treatment and rehabilitation of Daria Biel, a beneficiary of the "Zdążyć z Pomocą" Foundation. Daria’s profile is available by clicking the link. Since birth, Daria has been battling cerebral palsy, and her mother, a graduate of our university, has supported the Run 4 a Smile initiative for years by offering for auction Domek na Przełęczy.

The ceremony was officially opened by the Rector of WSB-NLU, Dr. Dariusz Woźniak, Prof. WSB-NLU, and the event was hosted by the irreplaceable Krzysztof Witowski, who once again supported us with his energy and dedication.  

During the event, we had the opportunity to taste dishes prepared by our academic community and guests from the Erasmus+ program, featuring specialties from Poland, Ukraine, France, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Congo, the USA, Japan, Portugal, and Nigeria. Additionally, we were supported by the Kuchnia regionalna z Krynicy, Restauracja Novo.Sądecka and Zespół Szkół Ponadpodstawowych im. Wincentego Witosa w Nawojowej.

The event offered additional attractions that left participants with unforgettable experiences. Krzysztof Chuderski prepared a fascinating culinary show, during which he discussed the five elements of ramen, culminating in a tasting of this Japanese dish. Meanwhile, technology enthusiasts enjoyed virtual journeys with VR technology, which transported them to an entirely different world.
