On May 26, 2026, a special event dedicated to legal education, social responsibility, and civic engagement took place at the Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu – National Louis University in Nowy Sącz. The university’s Main Auditorium was filled to capacity. The event was attended by WSB-NLU students, secondary school students, teachers, and guardians, who came in large numbers to listen to inspiring lectures delivered by Judge Anna Maria Wesołowska.
Judge Anna Maria Wesołowska is one of the most recognizable figures in the Polish justice system. For many years, she served in the Criminal Division of the Regional Court in Łódź, specializing, among other areas, in cases involving organized crime.
Legal Awareness as the Foundation of Safety
The main highlight of the program was Judge Anna Maria Wesołowska’s lecture entitled “Legal Awareness, Responsibility, and the Safety of Young People.” The meeting addressed highly relevant issues related to the functioning of young people in the modern world. The speaker discussed topics such as responsibility for one’s own decisions, safety in the digital environment, cyberbullying, online hate speech, and the legal consequences of behaviors that are often underestimated by young people.
For many years, Judge Anna Maria Wesołowska has been actively involved in legal education initiatives for children and young people, placing particular emphasis on prevention and the development of civic awareness. In her presentations, she highlights the importance of understanding the law in everyday life and the need to anticipate the consequences of one’s decisions. Her educational activities include numerous meetings with pupils, students, teachers, and parents throughout Poland, during which she shares insights gained from her extensive experience in the justice system. During her lecture at WSB-NLU, she presented specific examples drawn from her professional practice. As a result, participants gained a better understanding of how seemingly harmless actions can lead to serious legal and personal consequences.
Particular interest was generated by issues related to cyberbullying and responsibility for content published online. One of the event’s greatest strengths was its interactive format. After the lecture, participants asked numerous questions concerning both legal matters and challenges that young people encounter in their daily lives. The discussion continued for a long time and demonstrated how important conversations about law, safety, and responsible participation in society truly are.
From Idea to Action
The second part of the event was led by dr Michał Mółka, Vice-Dean of the Law program at WSB-NLU, who delivered a lecture entitled “Have an Idea? Start an NGO! Legal Instructions for Changing the World.” The presentation focused on the activities of non-governmental organizations and the opportunities to make a real impact on the surrounding world through social initiatives. Participants learned about the fundamental legal aspects of establishing and managing NGOs, as well as how to transform social engagement into concrete actions benefiting local communities. dr Michał Mółka’s lecture demonstrated that law can serve not only as a framework regulating social life but also as an effective instrument for creating positive change. The session provided inspiration for everyone interested in actively supporting others and implementing their own social projects.
Knowledge, Inspiration, and Active Participation
The event was not only an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge but also a space for exchanging experiences, asking questions, and strengthening legal and civic awareness. The attendance, participant engagement, and overall atmosphere confirmed that issues related to law, safety, and social responsibility are of great importance to today’s younger generation.
The meeting with Judge Anna Maria Wesołowska and dr Michał Mółka will remain in the participants’ memories as an inspiring event that demonstrated how legal knowledge can be presented in an interesting, practical, and engaging way, while also providing real support in making informed life decisions.
