Magdalena Kuszewska visits the School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy at WSB-NLU

On September 20–21 the second on-site meeting of the WSB-NLU School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy took place. The meeting brought together program participants who are working together on improving their knowledge and skills necessary for psychotherapeutic work. In addition, a level 1 partial exam (theoretical part) was held during the meeting.
During the two-day session students had the opportunity not only to expand their theoretical knowledge, but also to develop practical skills in an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of experiences and mutual support.
On Sunday lecture and workshop sessions were conducted by Magdalena Kuszewska, a journalist, trainer, and author specializing in communication and working with emotions. The meeting was devoted to the role of the psychologist and psychotherapist as an expert appearing in the public sphere. Participants learned how to properly prepare for media appearances—in print, radio, television, and social media.
Thanks to practical tips and exercises participants were able to experience what it is like to work with a camera and microphone and how important it is to ensure consistency between nonverbal and verbal communication. The workshop proved to be not only a valuable addition to the curriculum, but also an inspiration for further development of competencies related to public and expert activity.
The WSB-NLU School of Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy is a program that prepares students to obtain qualifications as cognitive-behavioral psychotherapists.
