We extend our heartfelt congratulations to our student, Dr. Dagmara Grajczak-Mikłaszewicz, who on 15 November, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a lecture at the Polish Institute and Sikorski Museum in London. The presentation took place during the celebration of the Polish Foreign Service Day, bringing together members of the diplomatic community as well as individuals interested in the history of the Polish mission in the United Kingdom.
The event was organised by the Consular and Polish Community Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London. Its purpose was to highlight the role of Polish diplomats and the significance of activities undertaken abroad during the interwar period and throughout World War II.
In her lecture, Dr. Dagmara Grajczak-Mikłaszewicz presented the history of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in London between 1918 and 1945, with particular emphasis on the consulate’s activity during World War II. The topics discussed concerned the daily work of diplomats, the challenges of wartime, and actions undertaken to support Polish citizens residing in the United Kingdom.
The programme also included a lecture by Prof. Wojciech Skóra, historian and Head of the Department of 20th Century History at the Pomeranian University in Słupsk, who discussed the functioning of the Polish diplomatic service during the Second Polish Republic.
