

WSB-NLU Vice-Rector Dr.Michał Jasieński, Prof. WSB-NLU at the celebration of the 248th anniversary of USA independence and the 50th anniversary of the Consulate in Krakow
On July 3, 2024, a ceremony was held in Krakow, Poland, to mark the 248th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence and the 50th anniversary of the US Consulate General in Krakow. Among the invited guests were numerous representatives of authorities and institutions, as well as the Vice-Rector of the Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National Louis University, Dr. Michał Jasieński, Professor of WSB-NLU.
The ceremony, held at the historic Fort Kleparz, brought together many notables, including US Ambassador Mark Brzezinski and Consul General Erin Nickerson. During the meeting, Ambassador Mark Brzezinski recalled the history of the Krakow Consulate General, which has been supporting Polish-American relations since 1974. He also thanked the Consulate's staff for their commitment and daily work to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
WSB-NLU Vice-Rector Dr. Michał Jasieński, a WSB-NLU professor, expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Consulate in Krakow in promoting democratic values and international cooperation. “It is a great honor for me to participate in this ceremony. The values that unite our nations are the foundation for the further development of our relations, both in the educational and cultural contexts,” stressed Dr. Jasienski, Professor at WSB-NLU.
At the end of the ceremony, guests had the opportunity to view an exhibition on the history of the USA Consulate General in Krakow, as well as admire the American cars parked in the courtyard of Fort Kleparz. The event ended with a joint toast to the future of Polish-American relations.
USA Independence Day, celebrated annually on July 4, is one of the most important public holidays in the USA, commemorating the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Americans celebrate the day across the country with parades, concerts, festivals and fireworks displays, decorating their homes and buildings with national flags and decorations in the national colors.
