Summer Camp 2026 by APA & WSB-NLU – meet the event experts

One of the most important psychological events in Poland is fast approaching – Summer Camp 2026 by APA & WSB-NLU. From 17 to 23 August 2026, psychologists, therapists, researchers, students, doctoral students and practitioners interested in psychology, mental health, therapy, education and new technologies will meet in Nowy Sącz.

The event is organized in cooperation with the American Psychological Association (APA) – one of the most important scientific and professional organizations bringing together psychologists around the world. For years, APA has been setting the directions of the debate on psychology, scientific research, education and professional practice.

The Summer Camp 2026 program includes 4 days of workshops and seminars and 3 days of the International Scientific Conference “Behavioral Addictions”. It is a unique space for gaining current knowledge, developing competencies, exchanging experiences and meeting experts from Poland and abroad.

 

Keynote speaker: prof. UW Jacek Kochanowski, PhD, dr hab.

 

Among the invited speakers is dr hab. Jacek Kochanowski, prof. UW – professor at the University of Warsaw, queer sociologist and social sexologist.

During the event, he will deliver an introductory lecture entitled “Queer Life in Times of Fear: New Fascism, Moral Panic and the Politics of Fear”.

Dr hab. Jacek Kochanowski, prof. UW heads the Centre for Social Queer Studies at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences of the University of Warsaw. In his academic work, he focuses on, among others, social queer studies, sexuality, postcolonial studies and theatre studies.

He is the author of publications addressing important and current social, cultural and political issues. His books include, among others, “Brown Wave. Sociology of New Fascism in Poland” (2025), “Sociology of Sexuality. Margins” (2013) and “Spectacle and Knowledge. The Perspective of Social Queer Theory” (2009).

Summer Camp 2026 by APA & WSB-NLU is an event for people who want to expand their knowledge, develop competencies and take part in a conversation about the most important challenges of contemporary psychology.

Participants can compose a package tailored to their needs – from full participation in the event to selected workshop days, seminars or the scientific conference.
