WSB-NLU at the Family Picnic – Farewell to Summer Holidays 2025

On 30 August 2025, the residents of Nowy Sącz and the surrounding area had the opportunity to participate in a unique event – a Family Picnic to mark the end of the 2025 summer holidays, which was combined with the grand opening of the new Municipal Stadium at 47 Kilińskiego Street. This extremely important event for the city attracted thousands of participants – entire families, children, young people and adults, who celebrated the end of the summer holidays and the opening of the modern sports facility.
Among the numerous attractions and stands, there was also the National Louis University, which, as always, prepared something unique and inspiring for visitors. Our WSB-NLU tent was bustling with life from the very beginning, attracting both children and adults who are passionate about new technologies.
Visitors were greeted by innovative devices and stations:

• robo-dog – one of the biggest hits of the picnic. Guests could observe its behaviour, reactions to commands and interactions with its surroundings. It captured everyone's curiosity and lit up the children's faces with smiles as they rushed to take photos with it.
• a robotic arm – demonstrating the precision and practical applications of robotics in various areas of life. It showed how modern technologies support people in their work and studies.
• a 3D printer – various objects were created before the visitors' eyes, perfectly illustrating how modern printers can be used in education, engineering and medicine.
• VR glasses – transported participants into the world of virtual reality, allowing them to feel like they were in a completely different space for a moment. This experience was particularly attractive to young people who were able to experience a modern dimension of entertainment and education.
• Ozobots – small but extremely clever educational robots. The youngest children learned the basics of programming with their help, drawing routes and watching the robots follow their commands. This combination of learning and fun was extremely popular – the Ozobot stand was surrounded by children throughout the event.

Our stand was a place full of energy, innovation and creativity. WSB-NLU proved once again that 21st-century education is not only about theory, but above all about practice, innovation and inspiration for development. Thanks to the commitment of the university's staff and students, every visitor could see how fascinating and accessible the world of new technologies can be.
The picnic, combined with the opening of the stadium, was an excellent opportunity to bring residents together and show that Nowy Sącz is a place where tradition meets innovation. In an atmosphere of fun, music and numerous attractions, our stand left a mark as a space for discovery, experimentation and learning about the world of innovation together.
