From 5 to 7 December 2025, representatives of Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu – National-Louis University (WSB-NLU) took part in the International Scientific and Training Conference of the Polish Sexological Society entitled “Building Bridges. Cooperation of Specialists for Sexual Health.”

The first day of the conference was devoted to plenary lectures focusing on the integration of biological, psychological, and social perspectives in sexology. Particular attention was drawn to the keynote lecture by Prof. Maria Beisert, who emphasized the importance of a shared professional language and interdisciplinary cooperation in both clinical practice and research.

On the second day, two projects conducted by the WSB-NLU research team were presented by Dr Joanna Felczak and MA Łukasz Prochnij, in cooperation with Maria Wiśniewska MA and Artur Majchrzak MA. The paper on sexual education sparked a substantive discussion on the need to update school curricula in Poland. The poster entitled “Shyness, Emotion Regulation, and Sexual Functioning in Adults” highlighted the importance of emotional competencies in prevention and sexual health.

The conference program also featured presentations by recognized authorities, including Prof. Bartosz Grabski and Prof. Michał Lew-Starowicz, who presented current research findings and clinical recommendations. An important part of the event consisted of discussions on further research cooperation, including meetings with Dr Joanna Dec-Pietrowska and Dr Anna Walendzik-Ostrowska.

The conference also provided an opportunity to establish international contacts. Networking sessions with specialists from the Czech Republic, Spain, and Canada resulted in initial declarations of cooperation within an Erasmus+ project focused on sexual education for people aged 50+.

Participation in the conference confirmed the importance of interdisciplinary and international dialogue for the development of research and sexological practice. We would like to thank the organizers and all participants for inspiring meetings and the exchange of experience.
