WSB-NLU at the “University Festival – Małopolska of the Future” Fair 2025 – technology that captured attention!

On 26–27 November 2025, WSB-NLU took part in the Educational Fair “University Festival – Małopolska of the Future”, held in Kraków. For two days, our stand became a space for encounters with modern technology, innovation and a practical approach to education.

Visitors had the opportunity to see firsthand what education based on real solutions used in industry and emerging technologies looks like. One of the main attractions was a robotic dog, which not only drew attention but also demonstrated the development of autonomous systems and mobile robotics. VR and AR headsets were equally popular, allowing participants to immerse themselves in virtual educational and design environments.

The WSB-NLU stand also featured technologies related to manufacturing and prototyping. A 3D printer enabled visitors to observe the 3D printing process live. An incubator used for educational and research purposes was also presented, along with BabyClon – a highly realistic infant replica. Its presence referred to the well-known psychological phenomenon of the “uncanny valley”, which describes emotional responses to humanoid objects that are almost, but not entirely, human. The BabyClon presentation offered a practical insight into how subtle the boundary between realism and perceptual discomfort can be, as well as how such solutions are used in scientific research and science centres.

Particular attention was drawn to the FANUC industrial robot, one of the most recognisable symbols of modern automation. Discussions around this exhibit focused on the future of the labour market, robotisation and technical competencies. An additional highlight of the event were workshops for students conducted by Dawid Gądkowski, MSc Eng, a lecturer at WSB-NLU. Participants had the opportunity to learn about practical applications of industrial robots, gain insight into their programming and see how automation operates in real production processes.
