17th edition of the Małopolska Researchers' Night at the Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National Louis University in Nowy Sącz!
The 17th edition of the Małopolska Researchers' Night, which is part of the prestigious European Researcher's Night, will soon take place on Friday, 29 September 2023. This huge international event will be organised in 8 cities in Małopolska, and Nowy Sącz is one of them, thanks to the cooperation with Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National Louis University.
That evening, the main WSB-NLU building at ulica Zielona 27 will be transformed into a giant laboratory, and participants will have the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of science and experiments.
The event programme includes a number of activities, including:
In the Optics and Light zone:
- Experiments with lenses, collimators, prisms and light manipulation to explore the behaviour of light and the use of different optical elements.
In the Electrical Engineering and Electricity zone:
- Experiments with electromagnetism, plasma, Peltier modules, light bulbs, resistors and transformers to explore electrical and magnetic phenomena.
In the Chemistry and Chemical Reactions zone:
- Experiments demonstrating striking and interesting chemical phenomena, such as the colour cloud reaction, the simulation of fire in the hand or the formation of colour crystals.
In the Physics and Liquid Nitrogen zone:
- Investigating the properties of liquid nitrogen, expansion experiments, the formation of lodolomas and other visual effects associated with low temperatures.
In the Game Development zone:
- Discussing the stages of game development, quests placement in the gamedev industry and an introduction to popular game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity.
These are just some of the attractions that await the participants of the Małopolska Researchers' Night. During the event, there will also be 3 lectures in the main lecture theatre 010C, and a unique event is planned in parallel - the Inauguration of the Children's University of the First Age.
