On April 12, 2023, in the Senate Hall of the Academy of Fine Arts named after Jan Matejko in Krakow, a meeting of the Scientific Council for Strategic Directions of Development of Małopolska took place.
During the meeting, the Cooperation Agreement between the Małopolskie Voivodeship and the Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National Louis University in Nowy Sącz.
The purpose of this agreement is to establish long-term cooperation, especially in the field of supporting the development of the economic forum in Krynica-Zdrój and increasing the competitiveness of the region, including by participating in the work of the Scientific Council for Strategic Development Directions of Małopolska and organizing volunteer activities during the 3rd European Games.
The parties to the agreement declare their readiness to cooperate closely in the implementation of the set goals and tasks, in accordance with their competences, current capabilities and applicable legal regulations. As part of this cooperation, the Parties undertake in particular to:
- participation in the work of the Scientific Council for Strategic Development Directions of Małopolska,
- cooperation in determining the directions of substantive development of the Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdrój,
- cooperation in determining the directions of substantive economic development and competitiveness of Małopolska,
- cooperation in the organization of volunteer activities during the 3rd European Games, including the creation of a database of students who will work as volunteers during the Games,
- creating appropriate conditions for the exchange of organizational, educational and methodological experiences,
- promoting all joint activities, especially those for the sustainable development of Małopolska,
- organizing meetings of representatives of the Parties to assess the effects of cooperation and discuss new forms of cooperation,
- take any other action that serves the interests of the Parties.
The above list of commitments may change depending on the current needs and capabilities of the Parties as well as the changing political and economic situation.
During the meeting, information on the progress of preparations for the 3rd European Games was also presented by the President of the Management Board of the European Games 2023 Company, Mr. Marcin Nowak. In addition, preparations for the KRYNICA-FORUM economic summit in Krynica-Zdrój were presented by the Krynica Forum Program Director, Mr. Maciej Zdziarski. At the last point of the meeting, Acting Director of the Department of Regional Development, Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Region, Ms. Anna Mlost discussed the issues of supporting research infrastructure of the science sector in the regional program of European Funds for Małopolska 2021-2017.
