It is with deep regret and sadness that we inform you that the late Professor Jerzy Dietl, who was associated with the WSB-NLU for many years, working as a full professor in the Department of Marketing from 1997 to 2013, passed away on 23 February.
Solidarity activist, Senator of the Republic of Poland of the first term, author and co-author of many scientific works on marketing, economics and competitiveness of enterprises, mentor for many generations of future professors.
He was also President of the Educational Enterprise Foundation organising competitions in economic knowledge, in which WSB-NLU students were successful. He was awarded, among others, the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta. Honour His Memory.

Professor Dietl is remembered by WSB-NLU President Dr Krzysztof Pawłowski:
"I met Prof. Jerzy Dietl during the work of the Senate of the first term. He was for many of us an oracle in matters of economy. In 1997, Professor Dietl accepted my invitation to work on the first term at our WSB-NLU. I make no secret of the fact that Professor Dietl's coming to us on the first full-time post was a decisive factor in our being granted the right to run graduate programmes at our university in 1998. Professor Dietl was strict with students during exams, but students and also staff adored him. I maintained friendly contact with Professor Dietl almost until his death. Despite his age, he was very intellectually fit and, in a telephone conversation as recently as a month ago, he was telling me about writing a diary about his many travels abroad. Prof. Jerzy Dietl and was and will remain my closest Friend."

Notice is hereby given that the funeral of Mr Professor will be held on 5th March, Friday, at 2.30 p.m., in the Junikowo cemetery, ul. Grunwaldzka 305, Poznań.
