Why do we run? To bring joy to a child and a chance to get healthy!
Run 4 a Smile is a 100% charity run that will take place on Saturday 4th June in the Miasteczko Galicyjskie. A day later, a chess tournament will be held on the campus of the Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National Louis University. All of these events are linked to support for a girl struggling with a brain tumour. The teenager's world collapsed when she was nine years old. It was then that she was diagnosed with a malignant WHO IV Medulloblastoma tumour. Thanks to operations, the lesion was partially removed, but the ward of the Sursum Corda Association stopped walking and speaking. 13-year-old Julia Bodziony needs at least PLN 40,000 to continue her treatment and rehabilitation.
Run 4 a Smile. Where to sign up and what activities can you look forward to at the 9th run?
To support her in her fight for her health, you can take part in the Run 4 a Smile charity run. Anyone can take part in the Run for a Smile - young and old alike. The route set out by the organiser can be covered on foot, by running, but also by bicycle, inline skates or a scooter.
There will be several runs, so there is a competition for everyone. There is also a run for the little ones! So it is worth taking the whole family and friends to the event - together you can do something good. On top of that, participants in the run in Nowy Sącz can look forward to unusual prizes!Still not feeling encouraged to take part in Run 4 a Smile? There will be various activities available in the Galician Town - face painting, first aid training, dance demonstrations, a dart tournament and a barbecue. There will be a lot going on!
Just one week after the run, the crowning concert of the 9th edition of Run 4 a Smile will take place. The Summer Sącz Festival at the WSB-NLU is an event like never before in Nowy Sącz. Instead of one concert - two days of great fun! There will be food trucks, a mass of additional attractions and an opportunity to celebrate yet another important event - the 30th anniversary of the WSB-NLU! During the two festival days, the stars themselves, such as Margaret, Baranovski, Smolasty and Otsochodzi, will appear on stage.
You won't be in Nowy Sącz? Nothing lost!
What about people who will want to take part in the charity run but are not from Nowy Sącz? They too can support the collection for 13-year-old Julia! All they have to do is register on the website mentioned above, where they will receive an electronic starting number. On the day of the action, i.e. the weekend of 4-5 June, they will go for a walk or jog in the forest, in a park or around their neighbourhood or even their flat. You can go the distance on a bike, rollerblades or scooter, go for a hike on the beach or a mountain climb. The important thing is one thing - you will be on the move.
